Auli Teppo – pianist
Auli Teppo (Lonks) began her music studies at Aruküla Huvialakeskus “Pääsulind” and continued at the Tallinn Music Middle School under the guidance of teacher Martti Raide. By the spring of 2017, she earned her bachelor’s degree at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre under the supervision of Prof. Peep Lassmann and continues her studies in the master’s program. She has furthered her education at Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität (Konservatorium Wien) in Vienna under the guidance of Prof. Klaus Stickeni, and has participated in various masterclasses (with Prof. François Killian, Prof. Robert Rozek, Prof. David Aronson, etc.).
Auli has participated in and received recognition at several national and international competitions, including the 1st place at the IX National Instrumental Concerto Competition in Narva, where she also received the Narva City Orchestra special prize. She received a special prize at the II International Jenö Takacs Competition in Austria and a special prize for outstanding performance at the VIII Estonian Pianists Competition. She also earned a finalist diploma at the “San Dona di Piave City” competition in Italy and Venice. Additionally, she took part in the innovative television competition “Klassikatähed 2013.”
Auli Teppo has performed as a soloist with the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra and the Narva City Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductors Risto Joost, Mikk Murdvee, and Anatoli Štšura. She has given performances throughout Estonia, as well as in Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Russia, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Portugal, and Poland. She is also an active chamber musician and frequently collaborates with opera singers. In 2015, she participated in the collaborative project “Ikoonid/Pärt” between Tallinn Philharmonic and Tallinn Dance Theatre, presenting the complete piano music of Arvo Pärt. In April 2017, the same ensemble performed the concert-dance production “Ikoonid. Rahmaninov”.
